Excellent vehicle. Excellent price. The staff at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne at pick-up were friendly and helpful and Terry , who drove us to the airport from the depot in Tullamarine, was helpful and pleasant.

The car and rates were decent. What I did not appreciate was 1) the wait time at the Grand Hyatt location to receive a vehicle especially when all the information was completed online prior to arrival, 2) how the agent phrased "if there's even a small scratch, we will charged you the full amount since you do not have insurance" which made me feel that I had no option but to choose one of the insurance offered by East Coast rental, 3) requiring a $1000 deposit for no insurance which was not made clear/obvious during the online booking process, 4) marketing (online and through the agent at Grand Hyatt) that the car return was a Melbourne airport when in fact, the location was NOT at the airport but rather a site which requires a use of a shuttle to the airport after returning the vehicle. For these reasons, I was rather disappointed with my experience with East Coast Car Rentals and not likely to recommend this car rental company to family or friends.
